A practical guide

How to use Annotate PDF

  1. Choose a PDF and the page to annotate.

  2. Add freehand marks, notes, shapes, arrows or highlights.

  3. Save a copy and review the annotations.

Marks are added to a copy

The annotation tools draw new visual content over the selected page. They do not edit the original text or reflow the page. Keep the source file if you may need to make a different set of marks later.

Processing and limits

Processing stays in your browser. PDFs can be up to 100 MB and 2,000 pages.

Frequently asked questions

Are annotations editable after saving?

The marks are drawn into the PDF page content rather than saved as separate comment annotations. Keep your original if you may want to revise them.
