A practical guide

How to use Fill PDF Forms

  1. Choose a PDF containing interactive form fields.

  2. Enter text or choose values in supported fields.

  3. Save the filled PDF, or save and flatten its supported fields.

Supported interactive forms

The tool works with supported AcroForm text, checkbox, radio and dropdown fields. Scanned paper forms and XFA forms are not supported. Unsupported widget types may not be editable; review the output before relying on it.

Save or flatten

Saving keeps supported form fields interactive. Flattening removes their interactivity and keeps their supported visible appearances. Other PDF annotations are not flattened. Processing stays in your browser; PDFs can be up to 100 MB.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fill a scanned form?

No. A scan is a page image, not an interactive form. Use an annotation tool to place visible text, or create a form with Create Fillable PDF Forms.

What does flattening do?

It turns supported field appearances into page content so those fields can no longer be edited as form fields.
