A practical guide

How to use Excel to PDF

  1. Choose an XLSX workbook up to 25 MB.

  2. PDF64 converts the workbook into PDF pages.

  3. Download the PDF and check sheet coverage, scaling and page breaks.

How worksheets become PDF pages

Worksheet print settings affect the result. Print areas, paper size, orientation, scaling and page breaks can change what appears and how many PDF pages are created. Wide worksheets may span multiple pages.

What may look different?

PDF64 uses LibreOffice to render Excel workbooks. Fonts may be substituted, and charts, complex layouts or Excel-specific features can render differently. Formula results may also differ where workbook features are not fully compatible, so review important values and pages.

Limits and processing

XLSX files can be up to 25 MB. Generated PDFs are limited to 25 MB and 500 pages. The workbook is temporarily uploaded for server processing; the input is removed after processing and the resulting PDF remains available temporarily for download until expiry.

Frequently asked questions

Which spreadsheet format is supported?

This tool accepts XLSX workbooks.

Why does my worksheet span several PDF pages?

The result follows worksheet print settings such as orientation, scaling, print area and page breaks. Adjust those settings in the workbook and convert it again if necessary.

Will formulas always match Microsoft Excel?

Not necessarily. The workbook is rendered with LibreOffice, so Excel-specific formulas or features may behave differently.
