A practical guide

How to use Compare PDFs

  1. Choose two PDFs to compare.

  2. Select side-by-side viewing or visual difference mode.

  3. Move through pages and inspect highlighted differences.

Visual page comparison

The comparison renders pages and compares their appearance. It does not compare underlying text, metadata or PDF objects, and rendering differences can appear as visual changes. Page pairs are compared by their page positions.

Processing and limits

Both PDFs are rendered locally in your browser. Each file can be up to 100 MB; comparing large documents can require substantial device memory.

Frequently asked questions

Does this compare text changes directly?

No. It compares rendered page appearance, not the underlying text or PDF structure.

Can I compare files with different page counts?

Yes, but only matching page positions can be viewed as pairs. Navigate through the pages to inspect the available comparisons.
